Why The Bible?

This month, we remember William Tyndale, who was jailed, murdered then burned on a pole, for the entire town to see. His crime: “heresy” for translating the bible to the English language. William died October 6, 1536, at the age of 42.

William knew what we know: the bible is the richest most important thing for a believer. I say “thing” loosely, for it is the Word of God, in print. He died to prepare text that any English speaking man could read, and we are thankful for his courage and conviction.

The Recovery Bible Outreach sends bibles to recovering addicts because we know the word teaches how to heal the body, mind and strengthen the spirit; it is the only true way to recovery.

Faith is what we need to exist in this world and faith grows by knowing the word of God. We need to know what God says about a situation to know what we can have faith about. Once we know we can boldly go into any life situation and know we have God’s blessing, power and will at work. We want our prayers answered. We should never pray, “If it be Your will.” Know His will because He can’t answer prayer that isn’t in His will, anyway! 

Bibles are requested by so many, every day. Why the bible? They know and believe it will bring victory and change their lives.

It teaches how to find strength, recover from bad choices, battle temptation, make a decision, find peace of mind, obtain healing in your eyesight and body, or have your bills paid. Find out what the word of God says about these things and receive His word, by faith.  Jesus came to bring peace, a healed body, and all your financial needs met. Read Luke 4:18-19 for starters. 

It is easy to study for yourself. Google topics and feast on the verses that speak to your situation. Read those verses, the study notes in your bible and then focus on what God says about your situation.  Build your faith because God wants you to succeed and prosper in life. He has a mission and purpose for you and it all begins with knowing God and you will find out all about Him in His word.
